The state government has started implementing the announcement made by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to provide free transport facility to the students studying in government colleges from home to college and from college to home through bus. Chief Minister Baghel made this announcement in the interest of college students at a state-level function held at the Police Parade Ground in the capital Raipur on the occasion of Independence Day.
Commissioner of Higher Education Department Mrs. Sharda Verma has written a letter to the principals of all the government colleges regarding the implementation of this announcement. In which the information of those students studying in government colleges has been sought, who want to take advantage of free bus transport service.
The information has been sought in the prescribed format through letter. In this, information related to the name of the traveller, the name of the bus route, the name of the nearest bus stop of the college and the distance from the student’s home to the college has been asked. The principals have been asked to send the said information to the department by August 28.
It is noteworthy that during the meeting with the youth, the students of the college had demanded from Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to provide free bus service.
