Korba: With the announcement of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 by the Election Commission of India, the Model Code of Conduct will become effective immediately. With the code of conduct becoming effective, today in the presence of Collector and District Election Officer Ajit Vasant and Superintendent of Police Siddharth Tiwari, all the sub-divisional officers, revenue and gazetted police officers were given district level master trainers Dr. regarding the necessary action to be taken in Korba Lok Sabha constituency. Training was given by M.M. Joshi.
It was told in the training that the elections for Korba Lok Sabha constituency are to be conducted as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. During this, the Collector and District Election Officer directed everyone that during the Lok Sabha elections, all the officers and employees will work with fairness and transparency without any discrimination.
He said that the commitment of all the officers involved in election work from Patwari, Secretary, Constable level to the employees should be ensured in fair elections. He gave instructions to keep an eye on anti-social elements who create disturbance and disturb peace during elections and take necessary action.
In the training organized in the Collectorate meeting room, it was told that after the code of conduct comes into effect, the general code of conduct and what work has to be done during nomination filing, vote counting and voting day. It was told in the meeting that the code of conduct will remain in effect till the completion of the election process. During this period, many works will be restricted and emergency work can be done.
The objective of MCC is to provide equal opportunities to all, to curb misuse of powers by the government, to control the administrative machinery, to inform parties, candidates and their supporters of election related guidelines and ensure their compliance.
It was told in the meeting that with the implementation of the code of conduct, action is to be taken against complaints received at the control room, media centre, telephone number, C-Vigil, NGRS and defacement of property. Similarly, information was also given regarding removal of hoardings, allotment of rest houses, meeting of political parties, meeting regarding deposit of licensed weapons and implementation of Section 144.
Video surveillance team, activation of VVT only after the announcement of elections in the meeting, identification of public places for public meetings and helipads, permission for meetings, rallies and road shows of all parties, vehicles for election campaign, temporary campaign offices. Necessary guidelines were given regarding permission for loud speakers.
